Dynamic Music (+Misc)


Hey folks

I've been doing a lot of technical stuff the past two weeks, along with some small tweaks to old features. In the video you can hear the new dynamic music system my composer cooked up, which changes the intensity of the music based off the danger the player is in. Very cool stuff.

 Besides that I've been touching up most of the Machine's attacks, like the laser attack attached above. The laser is a bit wider and brighter now, and it creates some nifty smoke as it sweeps along the ground. On top of visual changes, most attacks better telegraphed so they're easier to notice and dodge.

The second screenshot shows the new skyline I've added to Act 2 to better differentiate it from Act 1. It's meant to look like a setting moon with daytime creeping in from above.

And in the last screenshot, you can see the pause menu I've been working on. I've yet to add in functionality for most of the buttons, but it can pause/unpause which is enough for now.

That's all I've got for this week, I've had a lot to share this time around as I missed last week's devlog.
